Try the Volume and Lift Hair Volume Builder Insert Clip by Conair

By

A quick and easy way to add a lift to any hairstyle

I recently purchased Conair's VOLUME AND LIFT hair volume builder insert for $4.99 at my local CVS pharmacy and boy am I amazed at how quick and easy it is to add a lift the my hairstyle. The Lift insert is a half-moon shaped 1/2" lifted double comb that fits under the hair, lifting and holding into place. It's perfect for the modern, retro 60's Jersey style big hair that many ladies are wearing these days. I wear my hair back in a bun a lot. I've found the VOLUME AND LIFT insert to be beneficial at giving my hair a lift at the top middle of the head. I pull hair into the VOLUME AND LIFT comb and clip back with a mini no-slip clip, pulling the sides back as well. This way I can wear my hair down or flipped up in a bun. This style can be achieved with wet or dry hair. When using the VOLUME AND LIFT on wet hair I add the insert to the crown of my head, covering it with as much hair as possible and pull the sides and back into a low ponytail. Next I braid and clip the ponytail end, flipping it around to the shoulder, creating a very simple, youthful look. I use a little styling gel and hair spray to hold in place for many hours. The VOLUME AND LIFT insert is great at adding elegance and fullness to the popular classic french twist hair style that many brides wear too. It can be used with clip-on hair extensions as well. This is a great way to add even more volume, lift and fullness to hair. For a totally different look, I add a clip-on light brown hair extension to the crown, blending it with my darker brown locks and insert the VOLUME AND LIFT to achieve a rich full hair style with many highlights.

Conair's Instruction of Use Employs Teasing the Hair for More Lift and Hold

Conair's instruction of use of the VOLUME AND LIFT Hair Volume Builder Insert is to Lift A 2" deep section of hair from the crown of the head, parting from ear to ear. Comb the section upward and tease to a height of about 3", then slide the insert onto your scalp at the part. Next put the teased hair over the insert to hold in place. I've found that teasing my hair, which I'm not a fan of, is not needed to add volume and keep the insert in place. I do gather an approximately 2" deep section of hair at the crown and make a small part, but not ear to ear. Holding my parted hair in one hand, I slip the insert into my hair at the part, first pushing the combs into my hair towards the face, then to the crown. Next I flip the hair into place on the insert. A tiny clip directly behind the insert is helpful for keeping it into place as well as hair spray.

Using a Flat and Curling Iron Can Add to the Lift Look

I am convinced there is a little girl in all women that still likes to play hair salon. As a child I remember playing for hours with moms old brushes and curlers trying to look grown up. As a teen I spent at least an hour it front of a vanity mirror trying to get each curl in the right position followed by hourly combings and mirror checks. I'm finding that as a grown up I do not have a lot extra time or energy for extra styling. That's why I like the flat iron. It's quick and easy to use, adding to my insert lifted style by flattening my bangs in front of the insert. I just turn on the flat iron before I apply the insert and by the time my insert is in place the flat iron is ready for use. In less than 2 minutes my bangs and sides are ironed into place. And when the back of my hair is down I use a curling iron to flip the ends up. Using flat and curling irons are worth the little bit of extra time spent, adding to the lifted hair look.
